Hello Rainer,
[RR>> Background information is nice; having a short note about when it was
[RR>> ratified and how many people were on the list to help create it would
[RR>
[RR>Put it in a different file and not in the program, please, where you can
[RR>delete it after reading (perhaps as a hyper text file for ST-Guide). In the
[RR>program only the icon and the level and only some words. Think of hundreds
[RR>[hope so:-) ] PRGs being conform to the gem-list standard and every PRG has
[RR>10kB of the same information in it...
10K? Ack! No, I was only suggesting a BRIEF message; maybe three sentences
long, at the most. Placing the note in the documentation is a good idea,
too, though.
[RR>The proposed icon with the number in it isn't good, because of the limit of
[RR>9 levels.
Why is that a problem? A standard with nine levels of support would be
extremely complex; anyway, why nine? Use HEX! :)
[RR>> Conclusion: including a list of internationally available key combinations
[RR>> in the shortcut standard is necessary IMO.
[RR>
[RR>Very good!
This is a good idea; it would make programming international software much
easier.
[RR>>I don't like your idea of using a capital or lower-case letter for
[RR>>shift. I like the up-arrow because it makes it obvious what needs to be
[RR>>pressed.
[RR>>
[RR>>I agree.
I also agree; it looks bad, and it is confusing.
[RR>I've learned the English 'load' too:-)
While we are on the subject of words, does anyone know a good english word
for Kurzeldatei? I think "Substitution File" is good, but long. Is there
anything better?
